America's Lawyer
Judges are Screwing you every day. They substitute lawyer ethics for morality.
U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright's, opinion -- on April Fool's Day
1998 -- dismissed Paula Jones' sexual harassment lawsuit against President
Clinton.
You
can read Judge Susie's ruling by clicking here, but her
decision was a forgone conclusion. Judge Wright is a 49 year old
woman who has known Clinton for years. She was a student in a law course
Clinton taught at the University of Arkansas in the early 1970s. She
is a judge in Clinton's hometown, and has been exposed to his masculine physical
attraction for years. She reportedly sought his attention in college
to "correct" a grade he gave her. Hillary, Bill's college significant
other, stepped in and gave Susan the "A" grade she wanted.
At 49, Judge Wright's age put her with the two million women who fantasied
about Clinton in 1998. The Leflein Associates poll displayed Clinton's
romantic appeal as highest among women between the ages of 25 and 34, but
continuing to those, like Susie, up to the ages of 55 to 64. The Judge had
been exposed to Clinton's sexual magnetism in all her years. It seems that
the now mature Judge Wright might suffer from the same winds of sexual
attractions that blew young college graduate Monica Lewinsky into Washington.
Judge Wright tipped her hand, or perhaps exposed her sexual fantasies, on
January 23, 1998. She saved the president at that time by preventing
Monica Lewinsky from being questioned by lawyers for Paula Jones. This
allowed the judge to avoid hearing from Monica about a pattern of behavior
by Clinton with young women. It also allowed her to avoid hearing from
other women preyed upon by Clinton. Jone's lawyers wanted to show
Clinton had used his political power to get sexual favors -- albeit willingly
-- from Ms. Lewinsky. In addition, a pattern of lying by the president
was apparent in his denials that he had an improper relationship with Lewinsky,
just as he had falsely claimed he had no relationships with another woman,
Gennnifer Flowers. He lied to all America about this woman with
whom he had had a multi-year affair. Judge Wright's faith in Clinton's honesty
must have been tested a few days after Lewinsky's deposition when Clinton
admitted for the first time he had an affair with Gennifer Flowers.
Apparently, Ms. Wright's feminine side underwent a spasm of denial.
She completely rejected any thoughts about her teacher's lecherous womanizing.
She simply refused to hear those who might tarnish her view of Clinton.
A reasonable approach for a woman smitten by the love bug, but not proper
for a serious judge.
At first, she fought to prevent Clinton from coming to trial while he was
President. She ruled that the case would be heard when it was convenient
for the President. That lover decision was quickly overruled by the Supreme
Court.
It's clear that Ms Wright has been emotionally upset by having to preside
over a case affecting the political future and reputation of her teacher.
Her distaste for hearing from other women about Clinton's womanizing
was explained by her husband, law professor, Robert Wright. He said
his wife was "not going to permit just a parade of women from coming through
her court. She is going to keep it pretty tight." To shed further
insight into his wife's views he added "All reports indicate that his
advances [toward Lewinsky] were not unwelcome -- that they were consensual,
which is not what Paula Jones is alleging. From what I've heard,
a lot of Bill Clinton's women have been satisfied customers."
Ironically, at the time Professor Wright was speaking it's not clear
whether he felt his wife had been one of Clinton's satisfied customers. Professor
Wright also said he believed his wife would only allow testimony from "women
who worked for the state or federal government" subjected to unwanted
advances from Clinton. Yet, in the two weeks prior to Susan Wright's
favorable decision for Clinton, two such women had stepped forward. It
may be that Judge Wright, like Susan McDougal, sacrificed her future for
her heart. Judge Wright rushed to her summary judgment just as such
women were coming forward, once more suggesting she could not bear to hear
testimony from ANY woman who derided the sexual behavior of her college
professor. As judge she placed a gag order on the participants.
This helped preserve some of Clinton's reputation. Her husband
admitted this saying, "the gag order has served one useful purpose, to
prevent the lawyers from commenting on the substance on TV."
Judge Wright, in her opinion, did agree that "there are few more outrageous
acts than a criminal sexual assault followed by unwanted exposure, coupled
with a demand for oral sex by the most powerful man in the state against
a very young, low-level employee," but, "the governor's alleged conduct
does not constitute sexual assault. Rather, the conduct as alleged by plaintiff
describes a mere sexual proposition or encounter, albeit an odious one, that
was relatively brief in duration, did not involve any coercion or threats
of reprisal and was abandoned as soon as plaintiff made clear that the advance
was not welcome."
The judge's spouse, Robert Wright, said, even before his wife's April Fool's
Day finding, "Clinton should be pretty happy with her."
And so should America's macho males. In the words of the court, when
you use force to get a woman alone, expose yourself and ask for oral sex,
as long as you let the woman go quickly, you make, "a mere sexual proposition
... albeit an odious one ... relatively brief in duration ... not involv(ing)
any coercion or threats of reprisal."
GO FOR IT GUYS! Judge Susie has given you the green light!
