The symptoms
Hepatitus is essentially inflammation of the liver
which can be accompanied by fever, fatigue, nausea and jaundice.
The Cause
Hep A is caught by swallowing contaminated food or water (contaminated by faeces)
or by oro-anal sex activity.
Hep b is found in semen, blood, vaginal secretions and saliva and is highly
contagious and spread through sexual contact, sharing contaminated needles and
piercing the skin with contaminated instruments.
Hep c is spread by contaminated injections (drug related).
What to do
Most of the hep infections can clear up by themselves, although there is a
vaccine for Hep B. If Hep c is not detected early enough, it can eventually
cause potentially fatal liver damage.
